Community Defensive Carbine

Why This Class is Important

Protection of shared spaces such as neighborhoods, campsites, and communes present unique challenges compared to home defense. These include the need to coordinate among multiple individuals, households, and families, as well as the difficulty of protecting larger open or semi-open areas. For example, a communal campsite may have multiple access points, or a neighborhood may include shared spaces like parks and pathways.

CDC will build on defensive carbine fundamentals with a focus on community defense tactics. Community defense extends beyond your home to defending your neighborhood, rural property, or a larger community space in the event of civil unrest, natural disasters, or other emergencies. This can involve longer engagement distances, communal areas with multiple access points, and the need for coordinated defense efforts among multiple defenders. Exact topics for will be decided at the instructors discretion based on assessing student skill level and adherence to safety protocols, and available gear. Example topics include the following key learning objectives.
